Dr. Gavin Johnson was raised in Mantua, Utah and graduated from Box Elder High School. Following high school he earned his bachelors degree in biology and Spanish from USU then attended professional school at Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon. He excelled in optometry school, graduating as part of the Beta Sigma Kappa international Optometric Honor Society.
To complete his optometric education Dr. Johnson trained in the management of LASIK, PRK, and corneal cross-linking patients with Dr. Stan Teplick, a pioneer in the FDA approval of LASIK surgery. He then relocated to Nome, Alaska for a rotation with the Indian Health Service. There he provided eye care to the people of Nome and the remote villages of the Norton Sound, managing eye diseases of all kinds. |
Upon completion of his optometric training, Dr. Johnson worked for a number of years in private and commercial settings in Washington state and Alaska providing eye care to people of all ages. He is experienced in treating and managing eye infections and injuries, dry eye, corneal ulcers, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts and provides the full scope of primary eye care.
As a father to three boys Dr. Johnson enjoys volunteering as a wrestling coach as well as taking his sons fishing and hunting whenever possible. His wife Jade is also a Utah native, they met at Utah State University where she was scoring goals for the women’s soccer team.

Taylor is our part time scheduling specialist. She is cross training in all areas to help keep our office running smoothly. When you get a call about your yearly exam reminder you will have the pleasure of speaking with Taylor.

Joy is our fantastic optician. She is friendly, helpful, and makes sure every patient is cared for. She has an eye for style and fit, and helps each patient to find the glasses that they are looking for. She is cross trained in all areas of the office and can help with whatever needs doing.

Dayshia is our Optometric Technician, she is fast friendly and efficient. Dayshia is skilled as an assistant to Dr. Johnson and assists with patient check in, initial examination pre-testing as well as some specialized testing procedures.
Dayshia is skilled with diagnostic instruments including visual field analysis, retinal photography and ocular coherence tomography used in evaluation of various diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration. |
Michele is our Contact lens extraordinaire, if you are interested in purchasing contacts she is the lady to talk to. She is also great at adjusting and fitting glasses. Like all our staff she is cross trained to help out in all areas of the office, with the ability to check-in patients, verify insurance and more.

Gracie is one of our receptionists, she is great at verifying insurance, checking in patients and like the rest of our team she is cross trained in all areas of the office. She is also fluent in Spanish!
